Dinners are always interesting and always a huge production. It is actually one of my favorite parts of the trip. Not because of the food, but because you get to try so many things.

Artie Lange

I forgot that next weekend we are going to see Artie Lange, from the Howard Stern Show! I am super excited to see his comedy act! It is in downtown Detroit at the Fox Theater.

I am back!

I made it back! Of course I have tons of pictures to share, but I forgot my camera cord at home. So I will have to post them next week sometime.
I leave for Miami on Sunday, for work, and will not return until the following Thursday. They will have to wait until then, DARN! I can not believe I did that!

Don Mueck

Don Mueck is a London-based photo-realist artist. Born in Melbourne , Australia , to parents who were toy makers, he labored on children's television shows for 15 years before working in special effects for such films as Labyrinth, a 1986 fantasy epic starring David Bowie.
Eventually Mueck concluded that photography pretty much destroys the physical presence of the original object, and so he turned to fine art and sculpture. In the early 1990's, still in his advertising days, Mueck was commissioned to make something highly realistic, and was wondering what material would do the trick. Latex was the usual, but he wanted something harder, more precise. Luckily, he saw a little architectural decor on the wall of a boutique and inquired as to the nice, pink stuff's nature. Fiberglass resin was the answer, and Mueck has made it his bronze and marble ever since.

China

I leave for China this Friday. This week is consumed with preparing for the trip and trying not to stress out! I am excited to see all of the random things that this trip will have to offer!

Yeah!

My friend from Texas was in town yesterday! I have not seen her in 3 years, but we have kept in touch the whole time. It was so good to see her and catch up! I love it when you can just pick up where you left off with someone. Now it is my turn to go back to Texas to visit her...can't wait to see her again!
